The Power of Pro Liver GLM

Since I met JP more than 18 months ago he has made a joke about the size of the fish he catches.

Fishing short sessions for many years JP has always had his fare share of carp, but the size has always been realitively low with a PB of around 15kg for many years. In fact it was a running joke amongst him and his friends. In England, we would say "pest control has arrived."

Last night I got to fish with JP on an overnighter. It was bitterly cold, but the fish were active and we knew we had a chance.

With it being a last minute trip for JP he hadn't got any of his usual boilie out of the freezer. Of course I had plenty of Pro Liver GLM ready to go and was happy to let JP grab what he needed for the night.

Now this lake has a varied stock, like a lot of waters in France, there is a resident stock of 'wild' commons and then a smaller head of bigger, usually bigger mirrors.

After a quick hello JP went over to the far side of the lake to get the rods out before dark.

After half an hour or so I heard his Delkim let out it's signature warble. I just assumed he was clipping on the bobbins or knocked a rod or something. Then I heard him shout over to me, just a little common I think. Just as he finished the sentence another Delkim went into meltdown! "Oh shit, give me a hand Nic."

So off I wandered round to him to secure the little common already in the net and help with what was obviously a far better fish.

As it went in the net I could see it was a PB, a PB that had stood for nearly 30 years!

I joked as we lifted it onto the mat that he should use my boilies more often!

On the scales we confirmed a new PB, did some photos we weren't really prepared for and slipped her back.

As I left to head back to my rods I said to him. "For the next PB I'll bring the lights and camera with me." He, laughed and said it would be another 30 years! I said not now you're using our boilie!

An hour later that Delkim sound rattled out across the lake again and after a little while he shouted "big mirror!"

I was already on my way around and had what I needed to get some decent shots.

On the scales it was again a new PB. 2 PB's within 3 hours of first using the Pro Liver GLM. Coincidence? Possibly, but that would be some coincidence.

Especially as after 2 more smaller commons in the night JP then also landed a PB common at lunchtime the following day!

Needless to say JP's freezer will soon be stocked with Pro Liver GLM and King Squid.

Good angling JP, and congratulations on your new PB's!
